Regarding to the importance and special position of information technology in the public organizations of Iran, manager attitudes and public organization needs to a structured model for management of information technology and sufficient recognition on outsourcing of each components, the objective of this research is to present an adaptive model for information technology management in public organizations of Iran. The research method is descriptive has an applied nature. Sample in this research have been selected from academic experts for model testing, and from public sector experts in order to applying the model in the real world. After analyzing academic experts' opinion, all components of the model and their outsourcing were confirmed. Designed model consist of five main components: Alignment, IT Investment, IT Risks, Value Delivery and IT Monitoring. Then the current status of information technology management in public sector was examined via a case study.
