مستندات ثبت اختراع‌ شامل اطلاعات کمياب و نتايج پژوهش‌های کاربردي است. تحليل اطلاعات ثبت اختراع ‌سبب ايجاد بينش جديد درخصوص محيط تجاري و پژوهشي مي‌شود. شناسايي كاربردهاي تحليل ثبت اختراع ضمن پاسخ‌دادن به بسياري از نيازهاي اطلاعاتي و کمک به تصميم‌گيري در مراكز پژوهشي، سبب آشنايی و ترغيب پژوهشگران و مديران براي استفاده از اين ابزار جديد در موضوع پژوهش مي‌گردد. هدف از اين مقاله ارائه يک چارچوب مفهومی مناسب برای ارزيابی ميزان استفاده از تحليل ‌ثبت اختراع در مراكز پژوهشی است. در اين راستا تعيين کاربردهای تحليل ثبت اختراع در مراكز پژوهشی به عنوان هدف دوم مطرح مي‌باشد.

اين تحقيق از نوع کيفی است و نتايج آن از طريق مطالعات کتابخانه‌ای، پرسش­نامه ، مصاحبه با خبرگان (نيمه ساختاريافته)، مشاركت پژوهشگر در پژوهش و همچنين استفاده از روش تحليل سلسله مراتبي (AHP) به‌دست آمده است. در پايان چارچوب مفهومي "سلسله مراتبي" به عنوان چارچوب ارزيابي برتر(مناسب) شناسايي و زيربخش‌‌هاي آن نيز تعيين شد. اين ساختار به سه سطح كلان (راهبردي)، مياني (رقابتي) و عملياتي (فني) تقسيم‌بندی شده و در آن 75 كاربرد تحليل ‌ثبت اختراع در مراکز پژوهشي شناسايي و در دسته‌بندي‌هاي مختلف ارائه شده است.

The analysis of the patent information establishes a new insight about the research and business environment. The recognition of the patent analysis applications not only responds to many information needs and contributes to decision making in research centers, but also makes the researchers and managers familiar with and encouraged to the use of this new tool in research. Presenting a suitable conceptual framework to evaluate the rate of patent analysis usage in research centers is the object of this article. Another object, in this respect, is to determine the applications of the patent analysis. This is a qualitative research, and its results obtained by library studies, questionnaire, interview with the experts (semi-structured), researcher's contribution in research, and also by using the AHP technique. Finally, the hierarchical conceptual framework is recognized as a supreme (suitable) one and its sub-sections are determined. This structure is divided to macro (strategic), intermediate (competitive) and operational (technical) levels. Seventy five patent analysis applications in research centers are recognized in this structure and are presented in different classifications.
