TDue to the increasing significance of natural gas in the global energy portfolio and also Iran being the holder of second most natural gas reserves in the world the importance of managing the production and consumption of natural gas is an apparent fact Therefore underground gas storage USG technology as a tool of gas reservoir management could play a considerable role in the future of the gas industry in Iran Nevertheless the growing trend of attaining key technologies in this field has experienced a standstill In order to analyze and plan the development of this technology there is a need to discover the roots of the problems and failures which hinder this development and also to analyze them This paper aims to provide a framework for analyzing such problems using the approach of technological innovation systems Furthermore the effect of contextual and environmental factors on the development of this technology has been discussed Finally using the structural equation modelling method the relationship between contextual structural and functional factors of the technological innovation system of USG has been tested In the end it is determined that contextual factors directly and also indirectly affect the performance of the mentioned system by influencing structural factors to the extent that the intensity of effects on functions caused by contextual factors is greater than that of structural problems

Competitive Business Environment has led companies to constantly prosper for generation of new ideas RD Collaboration is one of the mechanism that firms apply to promote innovation processes in their products and services RD Collaboration is trackable in vertical and horizontal modes in literature Some countries experiences in this matter shows that government support has had a special role in such cooperation mechanisms To investigate this hypothesis in this research we have gathered data from knowledge based companies in Iran which of them were receiving government support Data of collaboration types is from and and the hypothesis was to check for government support effect significance in on firms cooperation level After validity and reliability of data were tested and confirmed the Propensity Score Matching PSM methodology was used to investigate model hypothesesResult indicates that government support in the form of RD subsidies has significant effect on both vertical and horizontal collaboration modes However analysis of collaboration type under each mode shows that the most significant effect has been on scientificacademic collaboration and then internal cooperation advisory collaboration collaboration with suppliers have been more affected respectively

This research aims to investigate technological competitiveness of Iran comparing to countries subject to the countrys outlook during a tenyear period The main question of the study is what is the situation of Iran in comparision with the regional countires And which countires in the regim is its main competitors To answer these questions we used economic complexity approachOur results indicated that based on Harmonized System at the digit level HS the most complex products of the country are Zinc bars rods profiles and wire and Artificial waxes and prepared waxes for which the country has comparative advantages and at the same time has no competitors in the region By classifying the regional countires based on Economic Complexity in four gorups during the studied period Iran is among the countires with lowest economic complexity Moreover by classfing products by their compelexity within four groups it was observed that the majority of the countys competitive products are among the second lowest complex product groups Our results also show that Israel has the highest complex economy and highest diversity of complex products in the region although it is not among the main competitors of Iran While Iran has the largest share of technology with the countries of Egypt and Turkey these countries are the main rivals of Iran in the region.

Knowledge of humanities and social sciences is enacted knowledge because based on the process of dublel hermeneutic seeking any unvarian law in the humanities and social affairs is very difficult Several studies refute the universality of knowledge in the humanities and social sciences and contexcuality of knowledge affirms the social construction of knowledge or enacted social knowldege Although there are several studies on social construction of knowledge and enacted social knowledge but little has been done to social utilization of knowledge This theory asserts that although universities and research centers contribute in generating knowledge and sometimes utilization of it but the main culprit for the nonapplication of academic knowledge is not f scientific circlesThe author hopes that by accepting this theory by scholars and policy makerswe can change the national discourse about the inapplicability of academic knowledge of academic production in Iran

Examining the Relations between Firms Growth and the Growth of Technological Capabilities in the Aerospace Industry What are the Characteristics of HighGrowth Knowledge based FirmsEbrahim Souzanchi KashaniSina Kamjoo Bagheri Ali Anvari Assistant Professor Graduate School of Management and Economics Sharif University of Technology Tehran Iran Student of MBA Graduate School of Management and Economics Sharif University of Technology Tehran IranAbstractThis research concerns about two critical problems First the relation between firms growth and the growth of their technological capabilities and second the characteristics of the highgrowth firms Through case study of nine successful companies in the aerospace manufacturing industry the first problem shows a meaningful relationship between the two aforementioned factors Our analysis of the second aspect reveals that highgrowth firms are characterized by diversification strategy Therefore the growth pattern in this industry is in contrast to Chandlers model suggesting the volume expansion in the initial stages We divided firms into three distinct categories those with no diversification strategy others with product diversification strategy and finally firms with business diversification strategy The differences of their pattern of technological capabilities then have been analyzed and some recommendations for policy are suggested at the endKeywords Firms Growth Technological Capability HighGrowth Diversification Strategy

Despite the valuable achievements of joint RD projects most of them could not meet their goals in developing new products However there are a few comprehensive researches about the challenges of the Joint RD projects especially in developing countries which have different problems such as lack of welldesigned infrastructure the weakness of networks and lack of comprehensive supply chainThe main purpose of the research is the investigation of the challenges in joint RD projects which focus on developing new productsThe single case study is the research methodology in this research The case of the research is the Joint RD project for designing and producing the national Iranian automobile engine between the Iran Khodro Powertrain Company and FEV from GermanyFirstly a theoretical framework for investigating the selected case was developed Based on literature review and Explanatory interviews The four dimensions of the preliminary framework were Knowledge capability and absorptive capacity leadership and management of Joint project the skills of project management the role of governmental system and intermediariesThe main achievements of the research are a the importance of the organizational knowledge capability and the level of complexity of the product design b the role of the scientific and operational insight of the project manager c the importance of coevolution in the product design and process and the facilitating role of the governmental system in the Joint RD projects
